Who is Kakti?
Born in November, 2nd 1985. Kakti has been given a name Nursyafawati bt. Norhisham. She is raised by her parent Norhisham and Asiah in Selangor, Malaysia. She is the eldest in the family, sharing live with young brother and two younger sisters.At the age of 7, her parent noticed that Kakti has a talent and passion for art after seeing her classmate did a drawing. Since then, Kakti has been doing a lot of drawing and with a mindset to become an artist one day.
After graduated in high school, her parent supported her to continue on with her ambition and put her to study at Limkokwing University in diploma of Animation and Multimedia Design.
Later, she works at Fat Lizard studio as a 2D animator and inker for 9 months before she decided to quit and work in a direction that she has passion for, comic. For the past 5 years, she has been working as freelance artist in comic industry. Working for several writers and also working on her personal comics, one of it is Oh Kakti!.

What does Kakti means?
Kakti is a nickname that has been called by my sibling since 20 years ago. “Kak” is a short from “Kakak” in Malay language. “Kakak” means elder/eldest female among family, siblings and also used generally. Kakti’s nickname is Wati. Although people claims that “wati” means a bad word use in sexual activity in Arabic. But in Malay, the name “Wati” means “flower”. And usually use to tell gender for some titles and occupations. To avoid a misunderstanding, "Kakti" is chose for this title instead of "Wati".
What should we call you?
You can call me either name, Wati or Kakti or Kak Wati or Nursyafawati. Lol! If you can get that last one right ;). I am also have another nickname, Angel. But mostly, I prefer to be call Wati for all ages! And it’s catchy, right?
What’s your favorite comic?
My favorite of all time have always been Dragon Ball, Sailormoon, The King of Fighters, Crayon Shin Chan and Doraemon. I am old, but I still like them a lot!
What’s you favorite anime/animation?
There’re quite a lot of them. Most of them are from Walt Disney and Studio Ghibli, almost all of them are my favorite! And the list changes in time ;). As for anime, I love Trigun, Ninku, Akazukin Cha Cha, Samurai X, Samurai Champloo and 3x3 eyes. I am not fond of the new anime series, they look the same in my opinion
Anything you wanted to say to everyone out there?
Hmm… yes, in fact I do. Do what you really want to go for. If you love art, just do it. If you love fashion designs, or architecture or engineering or doctoral. Just do it! Don’t let anyone stops you from chasing your dream. You are the master of your own life! As long as you are doing the right thing, Peace! <(^o^)V
